Hi, my name is Paula Thompson, owner of Bonny Dogs Grooming Services & Academy. I have always had a love of animals and have been surrounded by them in the family home for as long as I can remember. I got my first dog, a rescue bearded collie when I was 15 years old. She had a limp and I called her Skip! Her first trim by me resembled the collie out of the Specsavers advert!
Since then, I knew I wanted to work with animals, but life just didn’t take me in that direction. I trained as a teacher and taught A Level and BTEC Information Technology for many years but decided in 2017 I had to follow my heart and Bonny Dogs Grooming Services was born. It is truly my dream career, and as I wanted to be able to combine my love of grooming with my love of teaching it wasn’t long before the Academy side of Bonny Dogs Grooming Services began.
I like to regularly attend grooming seminars and events to keep up to date with the industry and continue my professional development.

Our separate room off the salon provides a quiet space for breaks and studying for our students or paperwork. We understand that every dog is unique and requires individual attention, which is why we use a secure online booking system to make appointments and keep comprehensive notes on the dogs and their grooms.
